I don't think you can say anything sensible yet about the real tax on your GUI. One reason for this was already mentioned: the game is in alpha stage. GPU makers also do LOTS of driver optimization, writing custom code for each known game. The only thing I'm afraid that's not eligible for big optimization is the amount of video RAM used. I don't know anything about the rest of the setup or the alpha though, if it was 3 monitors 2560x1600 then most of you will probably be ok.

BF4 will be a new milestone in gaming history. I like that: pushing hardware to the max. It was like this back in the 90's en 00's.
I've upgraded my PC plenty of times to be able to play the newest games in the past :P
