Revise bad language filter.

Postby killengages » Sun 19 Apr, 2015 2:01 am

Hey guys,

First i enjoy playing on your chain-link server. Theres some good ingame admin work over there.

Can you look into your language filter with the following sentence ?

"why rush if our base is being taken"

I type this into chat and i got kicked instantly. Its not like its a disaster that i got kicked thou :)

I'm admin-ing 2 bf4 servers too with procon (language filter, balancer, C++ scripting a.s.o), so i know its sometimes
hard to find a balance in all of this. I wish more of these "whinners" would do all the procon work for 1 day (not only tryping in !k !b, but do the complete maintenance, so they will stop complaining about "bad admins"

keep up the good work !!

Cheers Killengages (The Netherlands)

Hmm, odd...

I removed that certain line in our language filter that got you kicked.
Been playing around with some regex filters. Seems I fucked up ;)

Sorry for the inconvenience.

With regards,

EB

ya pretty sure sth is fucked with the language filter, I think you get kicked / banned for saying "skyscraper" for example

perhaps this has been introduced with an update? I don't recall this issue happening before, but I remember one server where the language filter was like this, the only solution is to stop using the chat

at the very least disable ANY filtering for squad chat + perhaps team chat

personally I frown upon these scripts, they don't respect the context in which words are used

And that's exactly what I was trying to improve ;)
