Setting up Joystick (HELP!) (Found Something)

hello there dear 11 clan!
EDIT: I have found something since posting! especially the "load campaign mode" is very helpful http://www.overclock.net/t/1151826/i-fixed-bf3-joystick-issues-heres-how
i've been playing 82 hours now and i can get the chopper to fly around the map and get some kills using my keyboard.
But i still felt like overshooting the target a lot because of "all or nothing keyboard controls". so i bought a second hand joystick, just to see if I was right about what i thought.
I bought the joystick mainly for flying jets because i thought it's impossible to hit something with only the nose-mounted MG and keyboard.
So i got it in the mailbox today, but it turns out EA and/or DICE don't want you to use a joystick.
apparently it's almost impossible to set the top buttons because you shake the whole think and it says axis bla bla used instead of buttonX. oh and i can't get the turning axis set to what is it...uuh jaw?...anyway I mean the rudders for horizontal movement. at last but not least:the hardest one seems to be the throttle, I can't use the handle thingy?
ps: i'm using logitech force3dpro and windows says everything works including sideway turning/rudder, and I can't get profiler running on win 7 64 bit...well it runs but i can't open any screen of it....
Do some of you use a joystick and if yes how did you set it up??
